Job Description
IT Project Manager
We are seeking a talented and client-focused IT Project Manager to join our consulting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing IT projects for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring successful delivery of technology solutions that meet client needs and expectations. This role involves overseeing all aspects of project management, from initial client engagement and requirement gathering to project execution and post-project review. The IT Project Manager will work closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality, timely, and cost-effective IT solutions. These engagements typically involve cloud system implementations as well as projects to evaluate client business processes , create automation and improve other critical areas as required.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate enterprise level projects as well as strategic initiatives by compiling detailed project plans with task assignments across all project tasks and resources.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones tailored to client requirements.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Monitor budget to actual results and incremental scope for potential change requests.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, providing regular updates to clients.
- Report and escalate issues to management as needed, ensuring client satisfaction. Coordinate and lead sessions with proper client and RCP stakeholders to resolve any conflicts/issues that arise across a program/project.
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders, serving as the primary point of contact.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks and address issues proactively.
- Create and maintain organized, comprehensive project documentation for client and internal use.
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
- Develop and implement IT project policies and procedures in line with industry best practices.
- Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project execution.
- Work closely with clients on status reporting and timelines; adhere to proper change management processes, ensure action items and decision points are shared and agreed upon across all key stakeholders.
- Conduct project closure assessments and create recommendations for future projects.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to project team members, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Ensure client confidentiality and data security throughout the project lifecycle.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve client satisfaction and project delivery processes.
- Manage multiple client engagements as needed.
- Quickly learn and adapt to various systems and technologies and adhere to an agreed upon project management methodology.
Requirements
Must have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Information System, Information Technology, Project Management, Business Administration or related disciplines.
- Proven working experience as an IT Project Manager in a consulting environment or similar role.
- Four or more years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience managing complex projects.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills, with a focus on client satisfaction, as well as strong executive presentation skills to communicate complex concepts simply and effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis.
- Ability to develop comprehensive project plans and other project management tools to drive successful, efficient projects.
- Detailed understanding of common industry standard business practices as related to Marketing, Sales, Finance, Operations, Customer Support, etc.
- Experience with software in a ‘Software as a Service’ (SaaS) environment.
- Knowledge and use of ERP and CRM systems (like Salesforce/NetSuite).
Desired Requirements:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
- Experience with project management software tools (e.g., Wrike, Monday, Microsoft Project, JIRA, Trello, etc).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Ability to meet aggressive deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, demanding, customer and team-oriented work environment.
- Impeccable interpersonal, influencing, and team building skills and must have demonstrated experience in strategic cross team collaboration to drive alignment and delivery of complex problems.
- Be proactive, effective, versatile and action-oriented, having a “whatever it takes” attitude.
- Comfortable presenting to C-Level and below.
- Ability to pinpoint high level priorities and communicate high level details.
- Understanding of systems architecture and relevant technologies.
